6. Serendipity

Serendipity is a basic chick flick about a woman finding out if this random guy she met is the one destined to be with. Overall the movie was really interesting and not just your guy meets girl and they both fall in love, the characters, John Cusak and Kate Beckinsale, happen to be Christmas shopping and they both enjoy an evening together but then John asked for her number and Sarah left it to fate to decide. The karma and the comedy were pleasurable and quite questionable because of everything coming together that these random couple are really destined by fate to see each other. Although the fact that they keep going back and forth to try and find about each other is really humorous that they go back and forth and try to find out if the stranger is really one they should marry.

The way the movie was thought out was really well done that that karma takes effect and they never know who each person really is. The humor and the hardships they went to was really typical and romantic despite that they only met once and haven’t seen each other in the last six years. The movie made viewers try to guess when will the characters see each other again and although both of them were already engaged and due to be wedded. Overall for movie is just a one-time flick and very typical compared to other chick flicks so seeing the movie was once will be all right but I doubt it brought big numbers in the box office.

5/ Finding nemo

Finding nemo is a family.comedy, drama that stars about an overprotective clown fish that takes on an entire ocean to find his son, with a bad fin, that was kidnapped. The story was very well plotted out so it can keep audiences hooked till the very end. The characters were described with their own unique personalities.

One of the very well done qualities of the movie was the animation and very colorful yet interactive environment background. The animators showed other unique fish, reefs, and backgrounds with a vast variety of colors to show their own unique traits.

The effects looked very lively in comparison to the actual animals so they reacted like any animal would do when predators or any quick time reactions are chasing them. The settings were actuality for example the dentist office, the reef, or harbor at Sidney, Australia.

The main actor marlin, the clown fish, at first was happy and full of life at the very beginning before the death of his wife and nearly all of his unborn children. Then after the tragic accident with his wife and children he found out that one of children is alive and therefore taking care of him. He was strict overprotective and didn’t have many expectations or that he cant even swim. But then through his adventure he found out that children didn’t always rely on their parents and they should start doing things on their own. Then after he realized that he shouldn’t keep so many restrictions on his son so that he won’t be able to take care of himself later in the future.

4/ The karate kid

The karate kid is a movie dated back to the early 1980s. The story takes place in southern California in which a young boy has barely moved there. The actor Ralph Macchio’s starring character is a troubled young teenager with problems with other kids and several other troubles. Then he happened to live next to an immigrant named Mr. miyagi and helps him deal with most of the problems he has later in the movie.

I personally am new to the movie and for seeing it for the first time I personally say that I give it two thumbs down. Why, because the story took forever to understand. Also there’s was hardly any action and judging from the title of the film, the karate kid, one has to assume that at the very least there would be some good fight scenes.other than the lack of fight scenes the conversations were predictable and he kept going back and forth with the girl he likes.  But nonetheless if you’re an action fan movie I recommend NOT seeing the movie.

However if you love dram I recommend it because of the kids trouble and seeing that he literally moved from one side of the country to another the west side. It shows the troubles of starting fresh not knowing anyone. Also dealing with bullies in school, etc. It shows a growing friendship between Mr Miyagi and Daniel. Even though not knowing anyone he found a person that not only to talk to but to train him in karate to keep him self safe. in fact if you’re a drama fan there’s everything in this movie that makes it a good drama movie for anyone to see.

3, Compare and Contrast

Though both movies have the same story, both movies have different or various scenes that make both movies rather interesting. Apart from the different actors, the present time movie included some scenes different from the original movie. In addition to the actors, the effects of both movies are based on the technology that the movies were made from. Obviously the much newer movie had the most advanced technology so the effects were most presented with imagination of a chocolate loving child.

The most obvious different in both movies is that the classic movie is a musical and the newer version is just a role playing movie. The classic would just start singing out of nowhere to entertain you ,while in Charlie, they would only sing when the umpa lumpas would do the singing. In the classic willy wonka and rest of the cast would sing to entertain the audience. The present movie does have its advantages though. Though it is not a musical they show the audience a much deeper story about the life of willy wonka. Also you see more effects of modern day technology.

In my own opinion I personally think that the remake of the  classic was a better movie. They included oscar nominated actors that  have a history of making really good movies. Also I don’t enjoy musicals and because of that I didn’t seem to enjoy the classic because every 5 minutes they would pop open with a song. I enjoyed the remake for its deeper story line with main characters.
